The Pre-Marriage Course is a series of five sessions to help engaged couples or those exploring the possibility of marriage, build strong foundations for their future together.

The Pre-Marriage Course is a series of five sessions to help engaged couples or those exploring the possibility of marriage, build strong foundations for their future together. The course help couples invest in their relationship for a lasting marriage. Over five sessions, the course will help you to learn to communicate well, understand and appreciate your differences, and prepare for potential challenges.

The titles of the 5 sessions are:

  • Communication

  • Conflict

  • Commitment

  • Connection

  • Adventure

As a church we’ve been regularly running this course using an online format on Zoom.  Since 2020 as a church we’ve journeyed with 74 couples through the Pre-Marriage course.

Each session involves viewing a video which is interspersed with the couples having private conversations using discussion material.  The videos feature practical teaching material with interviews with real-life couples and input from international relationship experts.  On the course no couple ever has to share anything about their relationship in front of anyone else.  However, the course hosts from our church are available for discussions outside the course sessions, if a couple would like this.

For our course we also invite local guest couples to share about their experiences of marriage

Because of the online format of this course, we are happy to include couples from outside Auckland.  For those couples in Auckland we host an in-person end of course celebration meal.

We have recently finished our Pre-Marriage Course for this year. Our next course will be in 2026.

Cost: $60.00, includes two guest journals and the celebration meal.

Cost for couples outside Auckland $50.00
